Day 1
7:30 am pick up at Punta Arenas Hotel to embark on a ferry to Tierra del Fuego. After arriving in Tierra del Fuego, we drive to a colony of King Penguins in Bahia InĂștil. We will spend about 1 Hour at this National Park observing the colony's behavior. Near the King Penguin Park, we might encounter an unusual colony of Rockhopper penguins on the way to visit south towards Pampa Guanaco where we will observe a large herd of Guanacos. Along the way, we will find time to sit down and have our brown bag lunch and some snacks. Tonight we arrive at our cabin on the shores of Lake Fagnano's Chile side. Dinner will be served at 8 pm in our cabin.
Day 2
After breakfast, we drive to Caleta Maria where we will start a 2 hour Kayak journey towards Jackson Bay, in the Karukinka National park, to encounter a large colony of Elephant Seals. We will spend 4 hours in this Bay, enough time to observe the Seal Colony's behavior, have a short hike in Karukinka and enjoy a nice lunch prepared by our guides. Return to our cabin to freshen up and walk to the shores of Lago Fagnano for a refreshment/cocktail before dinner at 8 pm. For those
not able to Kayak, there is a zodiac ride option to Bahia Jackson.
Day 3
After breakfast, we head south to the Darwin Mountain Range for a 5 hour hike around Lafontaine River which takes us to the foothills of the northern edge of the Darwin Mountain Range. We will have lunch on the shores of the river before we start heading back to our cabin. We observe Andean Condors, several species of Caracaras, Kelp Geese, White Throated Treerunner and Thorn-Tailed Rayadito among other bird species. We return back to our cabin to prepare for a Patagonian Asado prepared by Don German Genkowski, owner of this land and adventure travel pioneer of Tierra del Fuego. Don German will share stories of his experiences running a farm in this very remote region.
Day 4
This fourth day can be one of two options: Either kayak or zodiac rides around Lake Fagnano and relax around the shores of this magnificent lake or drive up to Lago Deseado where we can do a hike on the northern side of the lake, which is part of the Karukinka park. The hike could be a 4 hour hike and then picked up by zodiac to visit a waterfall side where we can enjoy a cocktail. Return to the Lago Deseado Lodge for a lakeside dinner prepared to order. If we pick this second option, we stay at the Lago Deseado Lodge this last night.
